Stories from the Mountain West

I am a writer and reporter based in Ketchum, Idaho.

My work focuses on stories that impact rural communities and the Intermountain West.

About Me

From the Sox/Yankees borderlands of central Connecticut, I studied at Brown University, where I worked as a writing fellow and graduated magna cum laude with honors in nonfiction. I completed a masters in journalism at Columbia University the next year, finishing with honors in magazine journalism and narrative writing.

Following a road trip (and after crashing a Foreigner concert), I moved to Ketchum, Idaho, in 2016. My work since--first as a writer and editor-in-chief at the Idaho Mountain Express newspaper, then as a freelancer--has focused on the people, places and politics of the Gem state.

My Work

My work has appeared in The Atlantic, Deseret Magazine, Sun Valley Magazine, Boise Weekly, and the Idaho Mountain Express, among many other outlets. I've published more than 1,000 articles since I started covering Idaho in 2017. I'm working on adding more to this portfolio, but here are a few highlights to get you started.
